A Sad Story of Addiction

I just read this sad story of a
new batch of high potency heroin
hitting the streets of BC. According to the story, there have already
been 21 deaths just this year.
They interviewed J.D. His words hit home.
The article reports that at the INSITE supervised-injection site there have been 3000 overdoses, but because the site is supervised, none of them have died. 3000! That's 3000 times that death was cheated, due to a bit of care, human to human.
And yet it seems so sad. Like such a small stab at a solution. It's like the helpless helping the helpless. And I'm helpless too, since I don't know how to help these people. But I'm glad there is a place that will supervise and be there, in case things go wrong.
